Sale of Groupe IBS to the Ardian Semiconductor fund

Isatis Capital announces the sale of Groupe IBS (Ion Beam Services) to the Ardian Semiconductor fund.

The IBS Group (Ion Beam Services)

Founded in 1987 by Mr. Laurent Roux, the IBS Group positions itself as one of the leading providers of equipment for ion implantation processes - crucial steps in the manufacturing of semiconductor components.

A comprehensive range of ion implanters

Supported over the past few years by Isatis Capital and Crédit Mutuel Innovation, the Group has developed a comprehensive range of ion implanters capable of competing with the industry’s major players, primarily based in the United States and Japan, in a market worth over €3 billion.

An international organization

Headquartered in Aix-en-Provence, the Group has an international organization with offices in Asia, the UK, and the United States.

A market driven by megatrends

In recent years, IBS has successfully capitalized on the strong momentum in the semiconductor components market, driven by major underlying megatrends such as electric vehicles, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and cleantech.

Sale to the Ardian Semiconductor fund

Following a competitive sale process led by the M&A advisory firm Apparius, the shareholders opted for a majority sale to the Ardian Semiconductor fund, which was advised on operational and industrial matters by Silian Partners—a firm composed of former senior executives from the semiconductor industry.

The funds managed by Isatis Capital achieved an excellent return through this value-creating exit, both for the company and its shareholders.

We are pleased that IBS has found a French acquirer combining both strong financial and industrial approaches.
