FATEC Group has been France’s leading independent vehicle fleet manager since 1993, handling both the operational and technical management of fleets (passenger cars, commercial vehicles, and industrial vehicles), while supporting companies in their energy transition. Originally developed by AON, the group became independent in 2013 under the leadership of Théophane Courau. Today, it manages over 125,000 vehicles, serves 200 clients, employs 273 staff, and achieves double-digit growth (+15% in 2025).
In recent years, FATEC has undertaken a proactive CSR approach. Although the company has always aimed to be “people-focused,” its CSR strategy only became structured in 2020, when it joined the regional CEDRE program. This initiative enabled a comprehensive assessment of its practices according to ISO 26000 standards, highlighting two priority areas: governance and employee relations. FATEC then strengthened its social policies, focusing on quality of work life and professional integration.
A turning point came in 2023 when the company’s leaders participated in the Business Convention for Climate. “It was like a punch in the stomach,” recalls Mathilde Courau, Deputy CEO. “We realized we had to take responsibility in the face of the climate emergency.” FATEC then defined an ambitious roadmap around three key areas: reducing mobility’s environmental impact, extending equipment lifespan, and engaging employees and clients in a culture of sustainability.
Specifically, the company has set a goal to reduce its CO2 emissions by 40% within five years. To achieve this, it focuses on reducing the number of vehicles, optimizing their usage, and progressively electrifying the fleet. FATEC also supports its clients in this transition, helping them identify the areas best suited for electrification. In addition, the company promotes the circular economy by prioritizing the use of refurbished parts in maintenance, aiming for 40% circular components within five years.
FATEC has chosen to actively involve its teams in this environmental effort. Climate awareness workshops have been organized, and an internal challenge, “My Little Planet,” has even been launched with clients. The company has also implemented a sustainable mobility plan for its employees, including incentives such as the mobility allowance and parking spaces reserved for carpoolers. “Our employees are fully engaged because they understand that the planet’s impact concerns us all,” emphasizes Ms. Courau. “We are committed to supporting them in this transition while recognizing and valuing their initiatives.”
Beyond its environmental commitments, FATEC also stands out for its proactive social policies. The company boasts a gender equality score of 99/100, reflecting transparent and fair pay practices. FATEC is committed to professional integration, hiring people with disabilities or those far from employment in partnership with specialized organizations. Today, employees with disabilities represent over 7% of the workforce.
The company also places great emphasis on employee development. With a goal of 20% internal mobility per year, FATEC offers regular performance reviews, tailored training, and values non-traditional career paths.
Building on these commitments, FATEC aims to continue its responsible growth. Within five years, the company targets a 40% reduction in its carbon footprint, 40% of parts sourced from the circular economy, and a presence in four European countries. “We are a fast-growing company, but we know this must never come at the expense of our employees,” concludes Ms. Courau.
Our challenge is to combine economic performance, controlled environmental impact and the well-being of our teams.
